Overview

Quick Response is a recruitment company based in London. With more than 6 desktop PCs and 3 Laptops they needed an IT support company that can offer them a reliable and cost effective backup solution.

Challenges

Keeping up with an expanding business meant keeping up with increasing amounts of data. Quick Response was having a significant problem with their backups as they did not have a proper backup solution in place and their data had grown rapidly. They were getting close to having 100 gigs of data and were still trying to copy some of the data on different drives and USB sticks across the network.

This process was not only slow; it also meant that the backups were still running during the day when users were logged on to the network. This meant two things: first of all, the network ran slow and secondly, a lot of files were not getting backed up because they were open by the user.

The biggest worry for the firm was if a disaster were to take place. It would take weeks to bring all the data back which would have meant excessive downtime and loss of productivity, which inevitably would have cost the firm a substantial sum of money. This is when Dezon stepped in and provided the expertise necessary to fulfill such a task.

After careful inspection of their systems, Dezon came up with a solution that would not only speed up their backup procedure, but would also backup their entire data in the event of a complete disaster. It took Dezon less than a day to implement the solution, schedule proper backups, and test the system.

The Solution

Dezon chose an external RAID all-in-one unit with the impressive 3GB/s transfer. The unit had an array of two disks and the backups were fully automated, restores were quick and reliable, and archive drives were external, enabling removal and secure storage.

Benefits

Shortly after the upgrade, one of the computers in the network crashed and all the data on its hard disk was damaged. Thanks to their new backup system the existing data was recovered in 2 hours.
